Met with the Radiation Oncologist today. She is very smart. And funny and talks really fast. And she understands her patients and is able to empathize with what they are going through. I respect her for that.
She also has 4 dogs. I respect her for that too.
So, we tallied up the points:
1 for tumor size
2/3 for margin width
2/3 for tumor grade
Total 5-7
A score between 5-7 means: the tumor is pretty small, but the margins are a little close and the cells are a little aggressive so you should seek radiation.
OMG! I qualify! I get the full course of 33 radiation treatments!
Sort of like doing those quizzes in Cosmo…How Much Do You Really Know About Men? and tallying a score of 73 which means you demonstate a good understanding of what motivates men, but should seek therapy since you usually end up falling hopelessly in love with Mr. Wrong.
Yep, just like that.
So in a week I get my rad tattoo. The permanent marker that allows them to aim and shoot with confidence and accuracy. 33 times. In a row.
With time off for good behavior, I’ll be done by the second week of January 2010.
It will be my first tattoo…..I’m psyched. Maybe they can make it in the shape of a peace dove? or a Harley? or Winnie the Pooh?
