My 56th birthday.
I met my surgeon and she is a rock star.
Kari Rosenkranz, MD.
I have complete faith in her. She looks like she’s about 19.
She explained that the cancer in my right breast was small, should be easily removed, followed by a probable 5 week course of daily radiation.
I wish she had just stopped right there. It was all going so swimmingly.
But then she just had to go on to tell me that the MRI had shown something in the LEFT breast and the radiologists were looking at it to decide what they recommended. Dr.DiFlorio said wait and repeat the MRI in 6 months. Dr. Poplack said lets biopsy.
I really wasn’t hearing much anymore.
I told her I was all for doing the biopsy, and either tabling this or moving forward with treatment. I asked her what she would tell a loved one.
She said that if I were her sister, she’d tell me to do the biopsy and move on.
That’s why she’s a rock star.
And those 4 inch heels she was wearing – a breast surgeon in 4 inch heels.
She’s the one for me.
